ABOUT NIKKI FIELDING

BEHIND EVERY STYLE IS A STORY

I’m Nikki Fielding—an award-winning bridal hairstylist, educator and the founder of Boho Brides.

After 26 years in hairdressing, I know that beautiful hair is only part of what people remember. They remember how you made them feel—seen, understood and confident in who they are.

My work has always been about more than hair. It’s about connection, creativity and the privilege of being trusted during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

FROM BRIDE TO BOHO BRIDES

My bridal journey began with my own wedding in 2015.

At the time, I found it surprisingly difficult to find artists who understood the soft, free-flowing bohemian look I wanted. It’s a style we see everywhere now, but back then it felt different—and much harder to find.

Experiencing the process as a bride showed me that there was space for something more personal, relaxed and connected.

I began contracting for another bridal agency, learning an entirely new side of the industry before finding the confidence to step out on my own. With just myself and a friend offering makeup, Boho Brides was born.

THE PROMISE I MADE TO MYSELF

TEN YEARS.

When I began Boho Brides, I quietly gave myself ten years.

Ten years to build something meaningful. Ten years to become known within the bridal industry. Ten years to find out what I was capable of.

The journey wasn’t a straight line. During the COVID years, personal challenges forced me to slow down, but I kept a small flame burning until I was ready to believe in the vision again.

At the end of 2020, I decided to take the next step. What began as a bridal business grew into a studio, a salon and a team. I invested my time, creativity, finances and heart into building something I was deeply proud of.

A DECADE OF GROWTH

2025 — National Winner

AUSTRALIAN WEDDING

INDUSTRY AWARDS

2021 — Top 5

2022 — Top 3

2023 — Top 3

2024 — Highly Commended, Second Place

2025 — National Winner

In 2025, Boho Brides was named Australia’s Best Bridal Hair & Makeup Business.

The award represented far more than one successful year. It held every early morning, every long drive, every bride who trusted us and every time I chose to keep going when the path felt uncertain.

Exactly ten years after making that quiet promise to myself, I had done it.

I had made a name in bridal!

WHEN SUCCESS ASKED TOO MUCH

For a long time, I believed growth meant becoming bigger.

I expanded the salon, invested everything I had and worked relentlessly to make both the salon and bridal business successful. From the outside, I had achieved exactly what I once dreamed about.

But somewhere within everything I had built, I had started to lose myself.

By the end of 2025, carrying the weight of it all had worn me down. The business had consumed too much of my life, and I could no longer ignore the feeling that I had outgrown the version of success I was working so hard to maintain.

Walking away was painful. It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, but it was also one of the most honest decisions I have ever made.

Sometimes growth means building the dream. Sometimes it means recognising when that dream no longer belongs to you—and finding the courage to release it.

THE BEGINNING

THE GROWTH

Matt, my husband and best friend, has been beside me through every version of this dream.

He built each salon with his own hands, backed every idea and stepped in for our family whenever the business needed more of me.

This next chapter carries my name, but his love and support are part of everything that brought me here.

BEHIND EVERY MILESTONE

Well, it has certainly been a journey, and from everything I’ve learnt, it’s finally time to share—the hair, the tools, the experience and the continued love I have for all of it.

I’m real, down-to-earth and possibly a little bit ADHD. My mind moves quickly, I have a lot of ideas and I’ve learnt to use that energy to drive me. I’ve done the overthinking and worrying about other people’s opinions. Been there.

I’m drawn to people with a bit of spice and animals with plenty of personality. My family is not exactly short on either.

I love open, unfiltered conversations, a little oversharing and spaces where nobody feels judged. If you sit in my chair or learn beside me, you’ll get honesty, kindness, passion—and probably a conversation that goes well beyond hair.

Equally, I enjoy the quiet—even silence—as much as a party vibe but I’m definitely not the loudest in the room. I enjoy collaborating and working together. I may have been the boss lady, but I’ve never been bossy.

So here I am, ready to share what I know and keep doing what I love, exactly as I am.

xx Nikki
